  • What kind of products and services does ZippGo provide?

    ZippGo rents and delivers reusable plastic moving boxes for residential and commercial relocations within the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition to our famous green boxes, we also offer packing supplies such as Bubble Wrap, Glass Dividers, Plate Dividers, wardrobe boxes, mattress bags, and packing paper. After placing your order on our website, we deliver everything to your current home/office. After you've moved and unpacked, we come to your new home/office and pick up all the boxes and rented supplies. Not only do you save money and simplify your move by renting plastic moving boxes, but you're also eliminating the massive waste of cardboard boxes that are used once and typically end up in our local landfills.

  • How big are the ZippGo moving boxes?

    Our most popular box, the Large, is 27 inches long by 17 inches wide by 12 inches high and has approximately 3.2 cubic feet of storage. Our Medium ZippGo box, designed for packing books, is 21 inches long by 15 inches wide and 13 inches high and has approximately 2.2 cubic feet of storage. Our Extra Large ZippGo Box, designed for packing larger items such as blankets, pillows, and duvets, is 30 inches long by 20 inches wide by 12 inches tall and more than 4 cubic feet of storage space.   • Can't I just get free cardboard boxes?

    Sure you can, but is it really worth all the hassle? You've got a lot going on right between packing your whole life into boxes and shifting to a brand new place. Collecting cardboard boxes is not as easy at it sounds. Either you're going to be dumpster diving in the back of grocery stores or driving to the home of a stranger you found on Craigslist. The worst part of used cardboard boxes is that they are super susceptible to bacteria and bed bugs. You have no way of knowing what was packed in those boxes before you put your white linens and your favorite clothes in them. ZippGo boxes are thoroughly hand cleaned and sanitized after each use by our clean obsessed cleaning crew using eco-friendly biodegradable cleaners.   • Will I save money using ZippGo plastic moving boxes?

    Yes! Absolutely! Here are a few of the ways you'll save some green:

    1. ZippGo boxes are much stronger than cardboard so you'll be able to pack more in our boxes without worrying about the bottom falling out. This means you'll need fewer boxes.
    2. If you're like us and you value your time, I'm sure you would rather NOT spend a full day gathering and building cardboard boxes. ZippGo boxes are delivered to you ready to be packed the moment they arrive saving you hours of valuable time.
    3. ZippGo boxes have attached lids which means you won't need to spend extra money on countless rolls of packing tape. Our boxes never need tape. Just close the interlocking lids and you're done. We provide complimentary zip ties which lock the box once you've finished packing it.
    4. ZippGo boxes neatly stack on top of another making it super easy for movers to wheel them in and out of your house and into a moving truck and vice versa.   • What are your delivery areas?

    We offer delivery and pickup service in more than 60 cities in the San Francisco Bay Area. For a detailed list of the cities we serve or to check if we come to your city, you can view our locations page.
  • How long do I get to keep the boxes?

    From our experience, a 2 week rental is perfect for most residential customers to get their stuff packed, moved, and then unpacked. However, we understand that smaller moves can sometimes be done faster and larger moves may need more than 2 weeks. When you place your order, you can select a rental period anywhere from 1 week to 6 weeks. Each extra week you keep the boxes is approximately $1 per week per box, but take a look at our box package pricing page for actual extended rental costs. If you are doing a home remodel or moving and putting your belongings in storage for an extended period time, and need to rent for 8 weeks or longer, we can offer discounted monthly pricing (if booked and paid for the entire period).
  • How do I pay?

    When booking your order through our website, you'll enter your credit card details on our secure checkout. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express for payment. We can also accept your credit card details over the phone.
  • Is there a delivery fee?

    We offer free delivery and pickup service within our service area when you order one of our box packages.
  • What days and hours do you deliver and pickup?

    Our trucks are delivering and picking up ZippGo boxes Monday through Saturday between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm. When placing your order online, you can select the date and times that work best for your schedule. Depending on how our routes are shaping up, we may be able to arrive before 7 am. Contact our office to check to see if the special 6am-7am window is available. You'll receive a text message by 6 pm the day before your delivery and pickup dates confirming our arrival window for the next day.
  • Do I need to be home for the delivery?

    Yes. Someone over the age of 18 is required to be home to sign for the delivery.
  • Will ZippGo also pack and move my boxes?

    No, ZippGo only rents the boxes to you. You will need to hire a moving company or move the boxes on your own. We've worked with just about every moving company in the Bay Area over the last 8 years and know the best ones providing great service at reasonable prices. If you need a recommendation for a great moving company, simply check off the box that says "I would like a moving company referral' while placing your order and we'll get back to you almost immediately with moving company recommendations based on where you are moving from and to.
  • How do I pack the fragile items in my kitchen?

    Our first recommendation is our patent pending glass and dish divider inserts. These easy to use dividers fit perfectly inside the ZippGo Large Box and make packing glasses and plates a breeze. We also recommend ordering our Packing Paper Roll and Bubble Wrap Rolls to pack all fragile kitchen items. Use the packing paper for everyday plates and glasses wrapping each one and then placing it in a ZippGo box. Use the bubble wrap for items like fine china, wine bottles, or vases which may need an extra layer of cushion and protection.   • What if I need more ZippGo boxes after my delivery?

    Place a new order on the ZippGo website or by calling us on our toll-free number at 800-723-7017 and we'll be happy to deliver more of our plastic green boxes. If you want to add additional a la carte boxes or moving supplies after your initial delivery, we charge for the items ordered + a $29 delivery fee.
  • What is your cancelation policy?

    We understand moving plans can change for any number of reasons. If you would like to cancel an order, it must be done by Noon the day before your scheduled delivery date to receive a full refund. If an order cancellation is made after this time but before the delivery, there is a 25% restocking fee. If an order is canceled at the time of the delivery, there is a restocking charge of 50%
