  • Is ZippGo operating during the coronavirus pandemic?

    Yes. We will continue to deliver and pick up our reusable moving boxes as long as local health authorities deem it safe to do so.
  • What is ZippGo doing to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus?

    In addition to cleaning the ZippGo boxes after each use, we are now rotating the boxes to ensure at least a 5-day period between the time a box is returned and when it is delivered to a new customer. Our drivers now wear a mask, wash their hands frequently and follow social distancing guidelines. We deliver and pick up in whatever location is most comfortable for our customers. We also no longer require anyone to physically sign our order form upon delivery.
  • Can I change my pickup date?

    Yes! While our online system will assign your pickup date based on the day of delivery and rental duration, just contact us to find an available day/time for pickup that works best for you.
  • Can I change my order before it's delivered?

    Yes! Contact us by noon the day before your scheduled delivery, and we can add/remove supplies, change your box package, etc.
  • Do I need to be home for the delivery and pickup?

    Someone over the age of 18 should be there to sign for the delivery. In certain situations we will consider delivering to or picking up from a safe, unattended location.
  • What if I need more ZippGo boxes or supplies after my delivery?

    Place a new order online and we'll be happy to deliver more of our plastic green boxes. If you prefer to order additional boxes or moving supplies a la carte, we charge for the items ordered + a $39 delivery fee.
  • Can I order fewer than 25 boxes?

    Yes, in most cities within our service area we also offer a Studio package that includes 15 large boxes and a dolly. The pricing for the Studio package is $89 for the first week and $30 for each additional week. If it's available in your city, you will see the option to select the Studio package in step 1 of the ordering process.
  • Do I need to pay for the stairs service if there are just a few stairs?

    You do not need to pay for stairs service when there are 8 or fewer stairs.
  • Why do I need to pick two time windows?

    With up to 50 deliveries and pickups per day all over the Bay Area, we need some timing flexibility to reach everyone at their requested times. We try to accommodate first choice window selections, but we do look at both windows when plotting our routes (e.g. if you select 8-10am as first choice and 10am-noon as second choice, we consider 8am-noon your full requested window). Occasionally we may ask our customers if times outside their requested window would also work, as it could help make our routes far more efficient. If "Anytime 7am to 2pm" is selected in either window selection, we consider you to be flexible during those hours. By 6pm the day before delivery/pickup, we notify all customers via text with your exact (2 hour or less) window.
  • What is your service area?

    We offer delivery and pickup service in more than 60 cities in the San Francisco Bay Area. For a detailed list of the cities we serve, you can view our locations page. If you live outside of our service area but within reasonable driving distance, we may still be able to deliver/pickup for an additional fee - contact us to find out.
  • Can I use ZippGo boxes for a long distance move?

    No. ZippGo boxes can only be used for moves within the Bay Area, as there would be no way for us to retrieve the boxes from far away.
  • Will I save money using ZippGo moving boxes?

    Probably. Here are a few of the ways you'll save some green:

    1. ZippGo boxes are much stronger than cardboard so you'll be able to pack more in our boxes without worrying about the bottom falling out. This means you'll need fewer boxes.
    2. If you value your time and would rather NOT spend hours gathering and building cardboard boxes, ZippGo boxes are delivered to you ready to be packed, saving you hours of valuable time.
    3. ZippGo boxes have attached lids which means you won't need to spend extra money on rolls of packing tape. Our boxes never need tape. Just close the interlocking lids and you're done.
    4. ZippGo boxes neatly stack on top of one another making it super easy for movers to wheel them in and out of your home/office and into a moving truck. With movers charging an average of $150/hr, even shaving just 1 hour off the total move time will save you a significant amount of money. Check out our pricing page.
  • Can't I just get free cardboard boxes?

    Sure you can, you just have to decide if it’s worth the hassle. Collecting cardboard boxes from grocery stores or strangers on Craigslist or Nextdoor isn’t always as easy as it sounds. Then there’s the fact that used cardboard is highly susceptible to bacteria, bed bugs, etc. And if you still decide to use cardboard boxes, you’ll have to tape them up and hope they hold your stuff. Did we mention they don’t have handles? We could go on, but you get our point!

  • Are ZippGo boxes cleaned between uses?

    Yes! Our cleaning crew thoroughly washes each box by hand after each use, using eco-friendly cleaning products.
  • How big are the ZippGo moving boxes?

    Our most popular box, the Large, is 27 inches long by 17 inches wide by 12 inches high and has approximately 3.2 cubic feet of storage. Our Medium ZippGo box, designed for packing books, is 21 inches long by 15 inches wide and 13 inches high and has approximately 2.2 cubic feet of storage. Our Extra Large ZippGo box, designed for packing larger items such as blankets, pillows, and duvets, is 30 inches long by 20 inches wide by 12 inches tall and more than 4 cubic feet of storage space.   • How long do I get to keep the boxes?

    From our experience, a 2-week rental is perfect for a majority of residential customers to get their stuff packed, moved and unpacked. However, we understand that smaller moves can sometimes be done faster and larger moves may need more time. When you place your order, you can select a rental period anywhere from 1 to 6 weeks. If you are doing a home remodel or putting your belongings into storage for a longer period of time, we can sometimes offer discounted monthly pricing (if booked and paid for in advance) depending on box availability.
  • What days and hours do you deliver and pickup?

    Our trucks are delivering and picking up ZippGo boxes Monday through Saturday between the hours of 7am and 2pm. When placing your order online, you can select the date and times that work best for your schedule. Depending on how our routes are shaping up, we may be able to arrive before 7am. Contact our office to check to see if the special 6am-7am window is available. You'll receive a text message by 6pm the day before your delivery and pickup dates confirming our arrival window for the next day.
  • Is there a delivery/pickup fee?

    No! We offer free delivery and pickup within our service area when you order one of our box packages.
  • Will ZippGo also pack and move my boxes?

    No, ZippGo only rents the boxes to you. You will need to hire a moving company or move the boxes on your own.
  • What are the replacement fees for lost rental items?

    You will be charged the following for rental items that are not returned:

    • Box (medium) - $25
    • Box (large) - $30
    • Box (XL) - $35
    • Dolly - $60
    • Glass Divider - $30
    • Plate Divider - $40
    • Wardrobe Box - $85
  • What is your cancellation policy?

    We understand moving plans can change for any number of reasons. If you would like to cancel an order, it must be done by noon the day before your scheduled delivery date to receive a full refund. If an order cancellation is made after this time but before the delivery, there is a 25% restocking fee. If an order is canceled at the time of the delivery, there is a restocking charge of 50%
